Methodology
Data
The report covers 40 prop firms (19 futures, 18 CFD, 3 forex). The rules come from the rules cards published at https://puravidaedge.com/firms/. Each card is built from the firm's own published program pages, rules and terms, and help center articles. Every firm is re-verified once a month, and the verification date of each firm is stored with its data. The page shows the state of the rules at the latest verification date.
Unit of analysis
The unit is the firm, not the individual program. Many firms run several programs with different rules. If all programs of a firm share a value, the firm gets that value. If programs differ, the firm is classified as "mixed" (drawdown model) or "by program" (consistency rule, daily loss limit).
Drawdown model
Classified separately for the evaluation stage and the funded stage.
- static: the loss limit is a fixed level that does not move with profit.
- eod_trailing: the loss limit trails a high-water mark that is updated from end-of-day or closed-balance values.
- intraday_trailing: the loss limit trails a high-water mark that is updated from real-time equity during the trading day.
- mixed: the firm's programs use different models.
- unclear: sources disagree, the rule is marked as unverified or reported only, or the firm does not publish it.
A funded stage described as "same as evaluation" takes the evaluation value. A trailing limit that locks at the starting balance after a profit threshold is still classified by when its high-water mark is updated.
Consistency rule
Classified separately for the evaluation stage and the funded stage. A consistency rule is a published limit on how much of the profit may come from the best day or a few days.
- yes: every program of the firm has a consistency rule at that stage.
- by_program: some programs have it and others do not.
- none: the firm publishes that no program has it at that stage.
- unclear: the rule is disputed between sources, not published clearly, or marked as unverified.
In the headline figure, a firm counts as having a consistency rule if it is "yes" or "by_program" at either stage.
Daily loss limit
- yes: every program has a published daily loss limit, either one that ends the account or one that pauses trading for the rest of the day.
- by_program: some programs have it and others do not.
- none: the firm publishes that no program has it.
- unclear: the limit is not disclosed as a rule, is set per purchase without a published value, or is marked as unverified.
Payout cycle
- payout_min_days: the shortest fixed interval between payouts that the firm publishes across its programs. Daily counts as 1, weekly as 7, bi-weekly as 14, every N days as N, monthly as 30. Processing times (for example "24-hour processing") are not payout cycles and are ignored.
- payout_on_demand: true if a program lets the trader request a payout at any time once the eligibility conditions are met, with no fixed calendar cycle. For these firms payout_min_days is empty and they are counted separately.
- Firms that do not publish a payout interval are counted as unclear.
The payout chart groups firms by payout_min_days into 1 day, 2-7 days, 8-14 days and 15 or more days. The median is the median of payout_min_days over the firms in those groups.
Denominators
Firms classified as "unclear" are excluded from percentages. Every figure on this page is shown with its counts, in the form "N of 40 firms, M excluded as unclear".
What counts as a change
A firm counts as having changed a rule in a month if at verification the rules text on its card differs from the previous month, or if any of the classifications above changed. The change table lists the firm, the field, the previous value and the new value.
Limits
- Firms change their rules often and sometimes without notice. The data is accurate as of each firm's verification date.
- Where a firm's own pages contradict each other, the firm is classified as "unclear" for that field instead of guessing.
- The data is informational. Puravida Edge is not affiliated with any of the listed firms.
