Take Profit Trader PRO account rules: the ones that only appear once funded
Eight rules apply to a PRO account that never applied to the Test. The list, and what each one does to a systematic strategy.
The rules that appear only once you are funded
None of these exist on the Test. They are published in the PRO Account Rules and in the help center, and together they make PRO a different account from the one that was evaluated.
| Rule | What it says | What it means for a coded strategy |
|---|---|---|
| No bots | automated trading prohibited; alert-driven manual execution is the compliant path | a fully automated strategy cannot run on PRO |
| Weekly trading requirement | the account must trade every week | a low-frequency system needs a filler rule or breaches by inactivity |
| Limit-up / limit-down obligation | positions must be managed when a market locks limit | relevant to agricultural and some index contracts; NQ and GC rarely lock |
| News blackout | no trading around specified high-impact releases | add a time filter to the code even though execution is manual |
| No counter positions | no offsetting positions in the same product | no hedged legs |
| Intraday trailing drawdown | the floor follows every tick | size against the worst intraday excursion, not the worst close |
| Daily loss limit | $500 on 25K, scaling by size | the binding limit for multi-position days |
| Payouts | daily eligibility; the card lists 5 winning days per payout, other sources describe day-one payouts; a buffer and a 60-day rule are reported. Verify with firm | plan the first request around the buffer, not the calendar |
Sizing for PRO
Two limits bind at once: the intraday trailing floor ($2,000 on a 50K, measured every tick) and the daily loss limit. On a day with two positions each risking $300, the daily limit is the constraint; on a day with one position that ran $1,200 in profit and came back to flat, the trailing floor moved $1,200 higher. A backtest that reports only closed-trade drawdown underestimates both. Stage comparison on Test vs PRO; the full card at Take Profit Trader rules.
