Take Profit Trader Test vs PRO vs PRO+: every rule that changes

The drawdown clock changes twice on the way from evaluation to PRO+. Every rule by stage, and why the Test measures the wrong things for a systematic strategy.

The clearest stage switch in futures

Take Profit Trader runs one rulebook for the Test and a different one for PRO, and the drawdown model itself changes: end-of-day on the Test, intraday on PRO, end-of-day again on PRO+. The table follows a 50K through all three.

What this means for a systematic strategy

A strategy that passes the Test on an EOD floor with no daily limit and a 50% consistency check meets, on PRO, an intraday floor, a $500-class daily limit and a ban on bots. The evaluation therefore tests the wrong things: the rules that end PRO accounts are absent from the Test. Size the strategy for PRO from the start (worst intraday excursion against the drawdown, worst day against the daily limit) and treat the Test as a formality; and if the strategy is fully automated, PRO is not available to it at all.

The PRO-only rules are listed on PRO account rules; payouts on TPT payouts; the full card at Take Profit Trader rules.

FAQ

Is Take Profit Trader EOD or intraday?

End-of-day trailing on the Test, intraday trailing on the funded PRO account, end-of-day again on PRO+.

Does Take Profit Trader have a daily loss limit?

Not on the Test since January 2025. PRO accounts carry one, $500 on a 25K, scaling with size.

Does Take Profit Trader have a consistency rule?

Only on the Test: no single day at or above 50% of net P/L, and breaching it raises the profit goal rather than failing the account. PRO and PRO+ have none.
