six out of one hundred paid evaluations ever produce a payout. and the reason isn't what you think. it isn't discipline. the rules were never testing discipline. one firm publishes its own funnel. a fifth of evaluations reach the next stage. under a third of funded accounts ever see a payout. multiply through — six in a hundred.

the product of the rules. prop firm rules don't test discipline. they test the shape of your strategy's return distribution. the consistency cap: no single day above 50% of profit. you can fail a challenge while being profitable. one $1,800 day on a $3,000 target = 60% of your total. failed. while green. the rule caught your strategy being asymmetric.

now trailing drawdown. that trade paid you $200 — and burned $1,200 of your drawdown. the floor follows peak equity, including open profit. your real risk = your stop + the profit you give back. minimum trading days read one thing: frequency. two signals a week = eight chances in a 30-day window. two quiet weeks — the clock fails you before the edge does.

profile a: 62% win rate, small even wins. profile b: 42% win rate, 3:1 runners. b is the better system on paper — and b fails twice over. big days breach the cap. giveback bleeds the floor. swap the rule set — and the ranking flips. neither strategy changed. only the filter did. we read the rule set first, then build strategies that fit it.

ready-made portfolios · last quarter 12/12 closed green. four numbers: win rate & payoff · frequency · spread · giveback. read them and match the rule set. or start where that matching is already done. the full breakdown is on the site.
