Futures prop firms with one-time fees, EOD trailing and swing holding
Swing traders on funded accounts need three things at once: a fee that does not recur while a slow evaluation plays out, a drawdown floor that ignores intraday heat, and permission to hold through the close. Few firms offer all three on the same plan. This is the 2026 picture, with the caveats.
Why these three rules travel together
A swing strategy holds for days. On a monthly-fee evaluation, a slow month is a second fee. On an intraday-trailing account, a position that runs against you overnight can breach a floor that an end-of-day check would never have seen. And a firm that forbids overnight holds forbids the strategy outright. Any one of the three is survivable; the search for all three at once is why the query exists.
Which firms fit, and where each one bends
| Firm | Fee model | Drawdown | Overnight / weekend | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lucid Trading | Zero activation, zero recurring on funded (DamnPropFirms, Aug 2026) | EOD on LucidPro / LucidFlex / LucidDirect; LucidDaily runs intraday in funded | [DO WERYFIKACJI per plan] | Payouts ~15 min once approved |
| Tradeify | Evaluation fee; Select plan structure | EOD trailing on Select | Overnight and news allowed on some plans (YMI, May 2026) | Plan terms change often — verify the specific plan |
| Alpha Futures | Evaluation fee | EOD on all current plans | [DO WERYFIKACJI] | July 2026: NinjaTrader partnership ended, Premium accounts closed, payouts initially withheld then partially resumed (Finance Magnates). Verify status before purchase. |
| MyFundedFutures | Monthly on most plans; Rapid EOD (Aug 2026) sold as a limited-time plan | EOD on Core / Pro / Rapid EOD; standard Rapid trails intraday in sim-funded | [DO WERYFIKACJI per plan] | Rapid EOD: 30% consistency, 3 mini / 30 micro cap |
| Topstep | Monthly Combine fee | EOD-framed; MLL trails intraday during the Combine | Not through the daily close on most plans | Fee recurs monthly — fails the one-time filter |
| Apex | One-time evaluation + PA activation | EOD or intraday sold as separate products since March 2026 | [DO WERYFIKACJI] | Bracket orders enforced at platform level |
The honest reading of the table: no firm is a clean three-for-three on every plan. Lucid comes closest on fee and drawdown; Tradeify comes closest on holding permission. The right answer is a specific plan at a specific firm, checked on the day of purchase, not a firm name.
What to verify before paying
Three questions to the firm's support, in writing: does this exact plan allow holding through the daily close and through the weekend; is the drawdown check end-of-day or intraday on both the evaluation and the funded stage; and is there any recurring fee after the evaluation is passed. The stage question matters most — several firms run EOD in the evaluation and intraday once funded, which is the worst combination for a swing strategy because it passes the test and then fails the account.

FAQ
Which futures prop firms allow swing trading and overnight holds?
Tradeify allows overnight holds on some plans; Lucid and Alpha Futures run EOD trailing that suits swing holding but overnight permission varies by plan. Verify the specific plan — permission is a plan-level rule, not a firm-level one.
Do any prop firms have a true one-time fee?
Lucid Trading charges no activation and no recurring fee on funded accounts. Apex charges a one-time evaluation plus a PA activation. Most others charge monthly during the evaluation.
Why does EOD trailing matter for swing trading?
Because an intraday floor can be breached by overnight unrealised loss that an end-of-day check would never register. Swing strategies need the floor measured at the close, not tick by tick.
What is the biggest trap for swing traders on prop accounts?
A firm that runs EOD trailing in the evaluation and intraday trailing once funded. The strategy passes the test and then meets a different rule set on the account that actually pays.
Firm rules verified against official documentation and current third-party rule trackers in September 2026. Prop firm rules change frequently; confirm on the firm's site before purchasing an evaluation.
