Tradovate prop firms: which firms support it (2026)
If you are choosing a futures prop firm by platform in 2026, the honest answer is that the question has mostly resolved itself. Tradovate is the default frontend across the industry — the interesting question is no longer which firms support it, but what else they offer alongside it.

Why the platform matters less than people think — and where it matters a lot
Tradovate is browser-based, futures-native and works the same on any machine, which removes a whole category of setup problems. It also sits underneath TradingView, so you can keep your charts and let Tradovate handle routing and account management.
That last point is the one that actually matters for a systematic strategy. If your signals originate on TradingView, the route to a Tradovate-backed prop account is short and well-trodden: TradingView alert → bridge → Tradovate. That is the same architecture we document in our setup guide and step by step in automating a TradingView strategy on a prop account, and it is why platform choice rarely dictates strategy choice any more.
Two costs to check before you sign up
Market data. Tradovate charges separately for real-time CME data, roughly $12–30 a month depending on the contracts you need. Some firms absorb it, some pass it through. Confirm which before you buy.
Commissions. Per-side rates differ by firm even on the same platform. On micro contracts the round-turn typically lands near a dollar; on minis it is roughly three times that. Small numbers, but they compound: at a hundred trades against a $3,000 target, commissions plus slippage can consume a fifth to a third of the target. That is exactly why our modelling includes costs per trade rather than treating them as noise — see commissions, slippage and fills in Pine backtests.
Pick the drawdown model, not the platform
The platform column above is nearly uniform. The drawdown column is not, and that is what decides whether your strategy survives. A Tradovate-native firm on intraday trailing will fail a strategy that lets winners run, no matter how good the execution feels.
Sort the table by the third column instead: EOD vs intraday trailing, then match sizing per tier from the portfolios page. If you want it decided for you, our prop firm match tool maps rules to configurations.
One detail worth flagging: Take Profit Trader evaluates on end-of-day drawdown and moves funded PRO accounts to intraday. Same platform, different risk model after you pass.
FAQ
Which prop firms use Tradovate?
Almost every major futures prop firm supports Tradovate as a primary or secondary platform, including Apex Trader Funding, Topstep, Tradeify, Lucid Trading, Take Profit Trader, MyFundedFutures, TradeDay, FundedNext Futures, BluSky, Alpha Futures and Phidias. Tradeify uses Tradovate exclusively.
Can I connect TradingView to a Tradovate prop account?
Yes. Tradovate integrates with TradingView, so charts and signals can stay on TradingView while Tradovate handles routing and account management. For automated execution, a bridge sits between the TradingView alert and the broker.
Does Tradovate cost extra on a prop account?
Real-time CME market data is billed separately, typically $12 to $30 a month depending on which contracts you need. Some firms absorb this cost and others pass it through, so confirm before purchasing an evaluation. Per-side commissions also vary by firm on the same platform.
Is Tradovate better than Rithmic or NinjaTrader for prop trading?
For most traders the practical differences are small: Tradovate is browser-based with nothing to install, Rithmic is favoured for low-latency desktop setups, and NinjaTrader offers deeper charting. The drawdown model your firm uses will affect your results far more than the platform.
