Tradovate became the default futures prop platform in 2026 by elimination. When ProjectX went exclusive to Topstep at the end of February, every firm that had licensed it rebuilt on Tradovate or a Rithmic stack — and most chose Tradovate.

What this means for a systematic strategy
For a systematic strategy Tradovate is the path of least resistance: the widest firm coverage, native TradingView charting on the account, and every major bridge connects to it. If the strategy will run across more than one firm, Tradovate is almost certainly the right execution layer.
The concentration is also the risk. Tradovate and NinjaTrader share a parent, and in July 2026 that parent ended its partnership with Alpha Futures — Premium accounts closed and payouts stalled within days. A platform relationship is a supplier relationship, and the trader carries the consequence of it ending.
