Where they differ for a systematic strategy

Both sell a funded account without an evaluation, and both keep a consistency check on it; the difference is the floor. GOAT’s instant accounts run a 6% trailing drawdown with a 3% daily limit on the higher of balance or equity, plus a floating-loss closure at 1%, which is three separate ways an open position can end the account. Instant Funding’s Smart DD starts at 10% and tightens to 5% once the account is 5% up, with a 4% daily limit, so the room is wider early and narrower after the first run. A strategy with wide stops gets more early room at Instant Funding; a strategy that scales in gets hit by GOAT’s floating-loss rule first.

Consistency is the other split. GOAT applies 15% on standard and Instant GOAT, 20% on Instant Pro and Pay Later (30% from 5 September 2026), none on Instant Premium; Instant Funding applies 40% Best Day on Evolve and the phased programs and 15–25% on IF1 and Micro. Automation is allowed at both with limits: GOAT bans commercial EAs and HFT and lists limited EA support on TradeLocker; Instant Funding allows self-developed EAs only. Platform stability favours Instant Funding: GOAT has switched between TradeLocker and MT5 more than once.

FAQ

GOAT Funded Trader or Instant Funding for an instant-funded account?

Instant Funding gives more early drawdown room (Smart DD 10% tightening to 5%) and a stabler platform; GOAT pays a higher split ladder (80% to 100%) with a 48-hour payout guarantee but stacks a 6% trailing floor, a 3% daily limit and a 1% floating-loss closure. The floor decides it for a systematic strategy.

Which has the looser consistency rule?

GOAT on standard and Instant GOAT (15%) is stricter than Instant Funding on IF1 and Micro (15-25%) and far stricter than its Evolve program (40% Best Day); GOAT Instant Premium has none.

Do both allow automated trading?

Yes with limits: GOAT allows EAs but bans commercial EAs and HFT and lists limited EA support on TradeLocker; Instant Funding allows self-developed EAs only.
