Topstep payout paths: Standard vs Consistency, which pays faster

Topstep lets an Express Funded Account qualify for payouts in two ways. Which one is faster depends on how many days a strategy closes green and how big its best day is. All 40 firms side by side: prop firm payout rules compared.

Choosing by the shape of the equity curve

The Standard path counts days that end $150 or more in profit. A strategy that trades once or twice a week, or that closes many days slightly red and a few strongly green, can take three weeks to collect five winning days. The Consistency path counts calendar trading days but caps the best one at 40% of the profit requested: to withdraw $2,500 no day may exceed $1,000.

Run both against the backtest: count the share of days that close above $150, and the largest day as a share of a typical two-week profit. If more than half the trading days clear $150, Standard is faster; if the largest day stays under a third of the two-week profit, Consistency is faster. A strategy that fails both tests is a strategy that needs sizing down on the XFA, because the Scaling Plan already caps it at 2 lots until $2,000 of balance.

FAQ

What are the Topstep payout requirements?

On the Express Funded Account, either the Standard path (5 winning days of $150 or more per request) or the Consistency path (3 trading days with no single day above 40% of the profit). Split 90/10.

Does Topstep have a consistency rule on funded accounts?

Only on the optional Consistency payout path (40% best-day cap). The Standard path has no consistency check, and the Live Funded Account has none.

When does a Topstep account go Live?

After 30 winning days of $150 or more on the Express Funded Account; Live accounts pay daily.

How do Topstep payouts work?

On the Express Funded Account you request a payout once you qualify by one of two paths: Standard (5 winning days of $150 or more) or Consistency (3 trading days with no single day above 40% of the profit requested). Requests are capped at $2,000 to $6,000 by account size, processed in 1 to 3 days by ACH or Wise, and split 90/10 from the first dollar on accounts opened after 12 January 2026. The Live Funded Account removes the caps and pays daily.

Does Topstep have a daily payout account?

Only the Live Funded Account. Daily payouts unlock after 30 non-consecutive winning days of $150 or more in the Live account, and Express days do not count toward the 30. Every Express Funded Account payout is per request on the Standard or Consistency path.

What counts as a winning day at Topstep?

A session that closes $150 or more in profit. Five of them qualify a Standard-path payout request on the Express Funded Account, and 30 of them in the Live account unlock daily payouts. The Consistency path counts calendar trading days instead, three per request, with the best one capped at 40% of the profit.

What is the Topstep profit split?

90/10 from the first dollar on accounts opened after 12 January 2026, on both payout paths. Only accounts opened before that date keep 100% of the first $10,000.
