TradersPost vs PineConnector for prop firm automation

Both bridges turn a TradingView alert into a live order — the difference is the market they serve. Here is how they compare and which to pick for futures vs forex prop accounts.

TradersPost and PineConnector do the same job — take a TradingView webhook alert and turn it into a live order — but they serve different markets. Neither one generates signals; they only execute what your strategy tells them.

How to pick

It comes down to instrument:

  • Trading MNQ or MGC futures? Use TradersPost into Tradovate (or TopstepX on Topstep). That's the futures-prop path (Apex, Topstep, MyFundedFutures).
  • Trading NAS100 or gold (XAUUSD)? Use PineConnector into MT5. That's the forex-CFD path (FTMO, FundingPips).

If you run both futures and forex, it's normal to use both bridges — one per market. You don't force everything through one tool.

PineConnector cost and pricing (2026)

PineConnector moved to a subscription model; the current plans on the official product page (checked August 2026):

PlanMonthlyConcurrent accounts
Starter$39.001
Advanced$79.003
Professional$159.0010

Two costs sit on top of the license and belong in any honest total:

  • VPS. PineConnector retired its Cloud add-on on March 31, 2026 (announced in the official docs), so the EA now runs on your own VPS to keep MT5 online — PineConnector itself points at options in the $30/month-or-less range. Budget roughly $15–30/month.
  • TradingView plan. Webhook alerts require a paid TradingView subscription regardless of which bridge you use.

So a realistic single-account PineConnector stack is about $55–70/month before the TradingView plan. Annual billing reduces the license cost — the vendor advertises four months off on yearly plans, which puts the Starter tier near $26/month effective (checked August 2026, confirm at checkout).

One caution when researching: older articles still describe PineConnector's one-time license pricing. That model predates the current subscriptions — trust the vendor's live checkout, not cached reviews.

TradersPost pricing (2026)

TradersPost's own documentation lists the base Starter plan at $49/month or $499.80/year (docs.traderspost.io, checked August 2026). Third-party reviews from March 2026 describe higher tiers at roughly $99/month (multiple broker connections) and $199/month (unlimited connections), plus a $0 paper-trading tier for testing — confirm the tier details at checkout, since only the Starter figure is confirmed in official docs.

No VPS is required — TradersPost is cloud-hosted, which is the main structural cost difference between the two bridges: PineConnector's lower sticker price and the VPS roughly cancel out against TradersPost's higher subscription.

PineConnector alternatives

If PineConnector doesn't fit — price, MT5-only preference, or missing features — these are the bridges people actually compare it against (all figures are vendor-published, checked August 2026, confirm at checkout):

BridgeCostRouteNotes
TradersPostfrom $49/moTradingView → Tradovate/brokersThe futures-side answer; not an MT4/5 bridge
SignalForgefrom $4.99/moTradingView → MT5 onlyReads PineConnector's webhook format; drawdown-halt and news-filter features on the $14.99 tier
PickMyTrade$600/yr flatTradingView → futures platformsFutures-focused, unlimited accounts on one flat fee
WunderTrading$19.95–89.95/moTradingView → crypto/brokersBroader automation platform, crypto-leaning
Alertatronfrom $29/moTradingView → crypto exchangesCrypto-first, not a forex bridge

Which one is right depends on the same question as the main comparison: what does your prop account actually run on? An MT5 forex account narrows the list to PineConnector and SignalForge; a Tradovate futures account makes the whole list irrelevant except TradersPost and PickMyTrade.

Practical notes

  • PineConnector runs as an EA inside MT5 — often written "pine connector MT5" — so keep the terminal alive on a VPS.
  • TradersPost is cloud-hosted, so no VPS — but check broker/platform support for your prop firm.
  • Match your alert message format to the bridge's expected syntax; both publish templates.
  • Whatever you use, the prop firm's no-HFT / no-latency-arb rules still apply.

Puravida Edge ships its futures presets (MNQ, MGC) for the TradersPost path and its forex presets (NAS, XAU) for the PineConnector path. Most customers start manual and automate later — the strategy is identical either way.

FAQ

Can I use one bridge for both futures and forex?

Usually no — TradersPost is built for futures/stocks/crypto on Tradovate-style platforms, while PineConnector targets MT4/MT5 forex and CFDs. Most people run both, one per market.

Which is cheaper?

On sticker price, PineConnector: $39/month Starter against TradersPost's $49/month (both checked August 2026). Add the VPS PineConnector requires — roughly $15–30/month since its Cloud add-on retired in March 2026 — and the totals land within a few dollars of each other. Pick on your market, not on price.

Do I need a VPS?

For PineConnector / MT5, yes, so the terminal stays online — the vendor's own Cloud hosting was retired on March 31, 2026. TradersPost is cloud-based and does not require one.

Which bridge for an automated MNQ strategy?

TradersPost, connected to Tradovate (or Topstep's TopstepX) on your futures prop account.
