Prop firm rule changes: August 2026

Eleven confirmed changes across nine firms, seven reported ones that still need a second source, and three claims that did not survive checking. This is the first monthly changelog; the rules cards and comparison table are updated to match.

Each row below is supported by at least two independent sources or by the firm's own documentation. Dates are the date the change took effect or was announced, whichever is documented.

What did not change

Three claims circulated in August that do not hold up: Apex has not renamed the Performance Account (the help center still uses PA); Alpha Futures has not launched a "2.0" — the current lineup is Zero, Advanced and Direct after Standard was retired on 1 May and Premium closed in July; and FTMO's news window remains two minutes, not ten. Rule trackers copied each of these from a single post.

What it means for a systematic strategy

Two of the confirmed changes matter for anyone running a coded strategy. The Apex 50% consistency at payout — measured since the last withdrawal, not lifetime — makes the first days after each payout the tightest window; the calculator covers the ratio. Take Profit Trader's bot prohibition on PRO turns a compliant evaluation setup into a funded-stage violation; alert-driven execution is the path there. The three reported TradingView integrations, if confirmed, remove a bridge subscription and a failure point at Topstep, MFF and Lucid; the compatibility matrix will be updated when they appear in each firm's documentation. All confirmed rows are reflected on the rules cards and the comparison table.

FAQ

What prop firm rules changed in August 2026?

Confirmed: MFF launched Rapid EOD, FundingPips allowed EAs on all challenges, Lucid Flex dropped funded consistency, Apex confirmed 50% at PA payout, TPT banned bots on PRO, Alpha partially resumed payouts, FundingPips added Hot Seat scaling, Tradeify confirmed five accounts per household.

Did Apex rename the Performance Account?

No. The help center still uses "Performance Account (PA)". The rename claim came from a single post and did not hold up.

Did Topstep, MFF and Lucid add TradingView integration?

All three announced it on X in late August. None had documented it in their help centers at the time of this check. Treat as reported until confirmed.

Firm rules cross-checked September 2026 against firm documentation and current rule trackers; per-firm sources on the rules cards. Rules change quarterly.
